Kanika Dhillon calls Shah Rukh Khan chivalrous

When asked about her journey with Shah Rukh Khan from Om Shanti Om to Dunki, Kanika Dhillon said, “So with Shah Rukh every woman who has worked with him will tell you that he is so chivalrous. There’s a sense of safety. He really gives you a lot of opportunities, he is such a big superstar, and he gave me the platform for my debut novel. He integrated that book for me. And imagine I was this girl from Amritsar who had just written this one book. I am an AD on his film and he has taken the time so graciously to come and support me, to provide me with that platform.”

She added, “So I would be forever grateful to Mr Shah Rukh Khan for giving me that platform. And life just comes full circle when you start out your career with somebody. And I learned so much from Shah Rukh, I’d say a lot of my sensibility, I know cinema from him. He’s so educated about everything in life, he’s one of the most well-spoken people in my life. It’s really a pleasure to be around him, to learn from him, to watch him, so it’s beautiful.”

Kanika concluded, “I look at him as a mentor, as somebody whom I have gained a lot of knowledge from. Personally and professionally, I think he always stands tall. Even the way he treats women especially one of the most secure men I have ever seen. In fact, he openly says he prefers women. He sees your capability, he gives you those opportunities and is completely gracious.”
